✍️DAC Proposals

Guidelines for Proposals towards The ALANA Project DAC

For role proposals, please refer to the dedicated "Roles" section.

DAC proposals are formal documents submitted to The ALANA Project, outlining a proposed change, action, or initiative that the DAC may consider. These proposals can cover various topics, such as changing the DAC's governance structure, allocating funds for specific projects, or implementing new smart contract functionalities.

DAC proposals are important for a web3 project and its community because they provide a transparent and democratic way for the community to participate in the decision-making process of The ALANA Project. By submitting a proposal, any community member can express their ideas and concerns. If the proposal is approved, it can have a significant impact on the future direction of the project.

Additionally, DAC proposals can help build a stronger and more engaged community by fostering collaboration and encouraging members to participate actively in the project. Overall, DAC proposals are an essential tool for creating a more decentralized, inclusive, and transparent web3 ecosystem, where individuals and communities can have a more significant say in the development and direction of the projects they care about.

Proposal Checklist

In The ALANA Project, every community member can submit a proposal idea. If you are new to this the best way is to stick to the following Proposal Checklist:

Proposal Structure Framework

In many cases, the below-suggested framework for a proposal for The ALANA Project will be too elaborate and can obviously be kept shorter. Nonetheless, we deem it necessary to think a proposal through before putting it up for voting to make the best use of everyone's time and resources. We also would like to bring awareness to the fact that sometimes the proposal itself might be good. Still, resources might be lacking to fulfill it, so feasibility might be questionable. Either way, we encourage you to share your ideas and explore opportunities with us!

  1. Introduction: Begin with a brief introduction of yourself and the proposal, as well as its purpose. Explain what you request from The ALANA Project, why it is important, and how it will benefit the DAC.

  2. Overview of the Problem: Explain the problem or opportunity that the proposal is addressing. Discuss the challenges faced by the existing systems and how the proposed solution can benefit The ALANA Project.

  3. Proposed Solution: Provide a clear and concise description of the proposed solution, including the specific functionalities and features of the solution. Describe how the proposal will benefit the DAC and its members.

  4. Implementation Plan: Provide a detailed plan for implementing the proposal, including timelines, resource requirements, and potential risks and challenges. Explain how the proposal will be executed and how the DAC can help support its implementation.

  5. Copyright Vision: Please state clearly what kind of copyright license you would like to apply to the result of your proposal. Some options include All Rights Reserved, Creative Commons License, Public Domain, Copyleft, or Fair Use.

  6. Governance Structure: Describe how the proposal will impact the community and which resources will be required of financial or human nature. Outline briefly how the proposal aligns with the DAC's overall mission and values.

  8. Token Economics: currently not relevant

  9. Legal and Regulatory Considerations: Discuss any legal or regulatory considerations that may impact the proposal, including any compliance requirements or potential legal risks. Explain how the proposal will address any regulatory concerns and ensure compliance.

  11. Contact: Please ensure that people can contact you and vet you and your project by providing your LinkedIn, links to your project, and, if available, the project's documentation/ whitepaper.
